In a historic and momentous ceremony held on Friday, 9th May 2025, Oloye Abiola Iyiola was officially installed as the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland. This prestigious title marks another significant step in his enduring commitment to the cultural heritage and development of Ibadanland.
A Journey of Dedication and Service
Oloye Abiola Iyiola’s rise through the traditional ranks exemplifies loyalty, service, and a profound dedication to the customs of his people. Beginning in 2017 as the Mogaji (head) of Anlamole Compound, he progressed to Jagun Olubadan in 2022 and then to Ajia Olubadan in 2023. His new role as Bada Olubadan not only recognizes his steady climb but also the trust reposed in him by the Olubadan-in-Council and the people of Ibadanland.
Champion of Development and Diaspora Engagement
Beyond his traditional titles, Oloye Iyiola has made significant contributions to the development of Ibadanland. Notably, he served as the Chairman of the Ibadan Palace Fundraising Committee, leading efforts that culminated in the successful completion of the Olubadan Palace at Oke-Aremo. His leadership in the diaspora is equally commendable, as he currently presides as the National President of the Ibadan Descendants Union (IDU) USA, where he champions initiatives to empower and uplift Ibadan indigenes globally.

During the installation, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, charged all newly elevated chiefs to be agents of peace, unity, and community advancement.
