I believe that education is the great equalizer in the world, and books are at the foundation of a strong educational system. For many children in Nigeria, the gift of books truly is a gift of hope. Adopt-A-School strives to help create a culture of literacy and provide the tools of empowerment to the next generation of parents, teachers, and leaders in Nigeria.
Access to education is one of the only opportunities that young people have to end the cycle of poverty and attain a better quality of life than previous generations. Adopt-A-School works to help children who otherwise would not attend school by supplying educational materials to reduce or eliminate education costs.
We collect, sort, ship, and distribute books to students of all ages in Nigeria. Our goal: to end the book famine in Nigeria. Access to books that will broaden individual horizons, enhance classrooms, and maybe significantly change a life or two.
The scholarships reward students from low-income families who exhibit hard work and a strong will to succeed. This annual scholarship for indigent students is to enable them have unfettered access to qualitative education regardless of their economic background.
The scheme has become an annual event and via awarded scholarships, it seeks ways to help indigent students who display academic excellence. This ensures that those from less-privileged backgrounds are given the opportunity to have access to quality education.
The success of this initiative is solely dependent on the unlimited availability of clean water which unfortunately has not always been fulfilled by our government.
As part of this initiative , one of Abiola’s companies, Safeway Drilling ( a Nigerian based water engineering company) provides access to clean water for schools and communities who suffer needlessly without it. Students are able to spend their time constructively in a classroom environment instead of spending it sourcing for water. He is committed to his company’s goal to continue to bring clean, sustainable water supplies to every school, and communities where clean water is a challenge. Time lost to avoidable sicknesses will be reduced thereby enabling people to work and earn a living to reduce poverty.
As part of several other initiatives, they have delivered functional wells with a 95% success rate to the educational sector, health sector, governmental institutions, SOS Children’s Villages in Ibadan and Ijebu-Ife as well as other communities in multiple states across Nigeria.

Preventive services for all adults, women, and children. Preventive care is the care you receive to prevent illnesses or diseases. It also includes counseling to prevent health problems. Providing these services at no cost is based on the idea that getting preventive care, such as screenings and immunizations, can help you and your family stay healthy.
They are:
- Alcohol and Drug misuse screening and counseling.
- Blood pressure screening.
- Depression screening.
- Obesity screening and counseling.
- Tobacco use screening and counseling.
- Immunizations for adults (doses, recommended ages and recommended populations vary).
